Pattern Designer Event 2023 Overview

 

Sept 18th- Oct 1st

It’s time to give Canadian Modern Quilters some exciting, new to them quilt patterns to keep them busy during Quilt Season.

 

2 Levels of Involvement

Full Day Feature

Cost $50

  • Available Weekdays

  • First post of the day is a standardized post with photos/videos and featuring your answers to specific questions. This post is boosted for 48 hours

  • 2 more posts that you create (submit media and write up and we will schedule to post)

  • Submit extra Stories which can be posted throughout the day

  • Optional: (but we highly suggest it) Live or Prerecorded Interview

  • Optional: Blog post with photos on our website. This will be written by you and we will post it for you.

Half Day Feature

Cost $20

  • Available Saturday and Sunday

  • One main feed post with all content made by you

  • Up to 3 stories spread over your half day

  • Optional: Blog post with photos on our website. This will be written by you and we will post it for you.

 

Live or Prerecorded Interview:

  • Up to 1 hour long.

  • Interview will be posted to Facebook and YouTube

  • A pre-interview (live or prerecorded) will be put up on IG as a teaser and to encourage people to move over to Facebook or YouTube to see the interview

  • We would love each interview to include a few minutes of their interview to address a specific educational topic:

    • Digital vs Paper Pattern (cost, access, terms of use etc)

    • Levels of difficulty in patterns

    • Sharing patterns

    • Selling quilts you’ve made from a pattern

    • Groups using a pattern for a quilt along

    • Use of pattern testers vs. hiring a tech editor

    • Or any other pattern writing topic you are passionate about

  • Prior to your interview we will have a brief zoom meeting so we can go over what all you would like to talk about and share

Details:

  • After signing up you will receive an email with all the additional details and a link to your personal Google Drive Folder

    • Please submit all media through the google drive folder (if you need help navigating this please let us know)

  • We will use all the media and info you submitted and schedule your posts to come out automatically

  • We would like you to promote this event on your feed using the graphics provided (we will send these out beginning of September

  • There will be targeted advertising running leading up to the event and throughout the event

  • The main location for the event is on instagram but we will have most posts copied over to our Facebook page as well. Please let us know if your Facebook handle differs from your IG

Giveaway

What is an event without prizes?

  • Top prize: 5 free Quilt Patterns

    • Winner will pick from the all featured Pattern Designers

    • If the winner chooses a pattern from you we will be in touch to work out the details

      • This will be paid for by the CMQC and the pattern designer is not expected to cover this cost

  • We will be looking for additional sponsors for additional prizes
